Femme Fatale est le 7e album studio de Britney.
Il est sorti le 25 mars 2011.

Après quelques rumeurs qui circulaient sur Internet, l'annonce de l'album a été confirmée par Britney le 2 décembre 2010. La chanteuse a enregistré son album sur une période de deux ans, entre juin 2009 et février 2011. Elle a travaillé avec plusieurs producteurs, dont Max Martin et Dr. Luke, les producteurs exécutifs de l'album, will.i.am, Rodney Jerkins, Billboard, Shellback, Bloodshy & Avant, Benny Blanco, JMIKE, Fraser T. Smith, Stargate et Sandy Vee. L'album voyage dans la dance music, faisant parfois une excursion dans le rock avec Don't Keep Me Waiting, et la balade midtempo avec Criminal. Britney disait au sujet de son album qu'il avait été conçu dans le souci de faire danser les gens. On ne retrouve que deux morceaux "lents" (Criminal et He About To Lose Me), le reste des chansons étant plus électropop et dance. On notera les sonorités dubstep sur plusieurs titres Hold It Against Me, Inside Out et Seal It With A Kiss). Ce courant de la musique électronique est en plein boom depuis le début de la décennie. L'album a reçu de bonnes critiques. How I Roll a été élue par le magazine Rolling Stone chanson de l'année 2011. Niveau charts, l'album s'est bien classé mais les ventes n'ont pas suivi. L'opus s'est écoulé à 1.5 million de copies à travers le monde, dont 750000 aux États-Unis et 80000 en France.

Petite histoire perso:

Bon, pour le côté novateur, on ne peut pas dire que cet album révolutionne un genre quelconque. Par contre, il m'a initié au dubstep, courant musical que je ne connaissais pas vraiment, mis à part Freakshow, de l'album Blackout, sorti en 2007. Par contre, il a la particularité de faire danser, même beaucoup... Seuls les morceaux Criminal et He About To Lose Me permettent de souffler un peu. Même s'il n'est pas mon album préféré, Femme Fatale comporte de très bons titres, mes favoris étant Till The World Ends, Inside Out, I Wanna Go, Trip To Your Heart, Criminal et Up N' Down.
