En août 2014, Britney a renouvellé son contrat avec RCA Records et a révélé avoir commencé l'écriture et l'enregistrement d'un 9e opus. Pour ce disque, la chanteuse s'est entourée de nouveaux talents tels que DJ Burns, DJ Mustard, Chantal Kreviazuk, Simon Wilcox, Ian Kirkpatrick ou encore le rapper G-Eazy. Des nouvelles têtes donc dans le paysage musical de la chanteuse.
Peu de titres électro et surtout une voix mise en avant sont les principales caractéristiques de cet opus. Britney avait dit que son album aurait des sonorités différentes de ses précédents opus. On peut donc y retrouver divers genres musicaux comme le R&B-Chill, le trap, la dancehall, les titres mid-tempo... Les textes traitent d'amour (charnel ou non), de trahison, de moments de joie... La chanteuse s'essaie même (avec beaucoup de mal la pauvre) au français sur Coupure Électrique, le morceau qui clôt Glory.
Les critiques ont été presque unanimement bonnes de la part des professionnels. Les fans ont quant à eux été enchantés de cette tournure musicale. Niveau classement, l'album s'est hissé à la 3e place du Billboard 200 et à la 6e place des charts français.

Petite histoire perso:

Bon, je vais être direct: cet album est un orgasme pour mes oreilles. Il n'y a vraiment aucune chanson que je n'aime pas. Cet opus est excellent pour sa production, l'investissement de Britney, les styles musicaux qui s'enchaînent, et cette voix que l'on pensait être condamnée à être trafiquée jusqu'à la fin des temps renaît enfin ici. Comme je vous l'ai dit, j'aime toutes les chansons (comme pas mal de fans en fait), mais si je devais choisir une ou deux chansons que je mettrai en boucle, ce serait Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortés), et Liar. Ironie ou pas, elles font toutes deux partie de l'édition deluxe de l'album..
